USCIS Announces Plans to Revert to the 2008 Version of the Naturalization Civics Test

Effective March 1, 2021, USCIS will revert to administering the 2008 civics test to naturalization applicants. Those who filed for naturalization before December 1, 2020, or who will file on or after March 1, 2021, will take the 2008 version of the test. Naturalization applicants who filed on or after December 1, 2020, and before March 1, 2021, will be given the option to take either the 2020 or the 2008 version. USCIS will host a Naturalization Civics Test Webinar on Wednesday March 3, 2021 from 3:30-4:30pm EST.

To Register for the USCIS Webinar:

1. Visit the registration page

2. Enter your email address and select "Submit"

3. Select "Subscriber Preferences"

4. Select the "Event Registration" tab

5. Complete the questions and select "Submit"

Once USCIS has processed your registration for the webinar, you will receive a confirmation email with additional details.
