Update on Presidential Proclamation Regarding Certain Nonimmigrant Visas

Presidential Proclamation 10052 suspending the issuance of certain nonimmigrant Visas expired today, March 31, 2021. This proclamation impacted H-1B/2B, L-1A/B, and J-1 applicants and their dependent spouses and children, with some exceptions.

What does this mean for H-1B/2B, L-1A/B, and J-1 holders currently outside the U.S.?

H-1B/2B, L-1A/B, and J-1 applicants and their dependent family members can begin the process of booking their nonimmigrant Visa appointments. However, it is important to note that many consulates are still operating at a limited capacity due to Covid-19. Individuals should contact the consulate they plan to apply at for more information about appointment availability.
