Updated Instructions on Rescheduling Biometrics Appointments

On July 27, 2021, USCIS announced that they have closed the Alexandria, Virginia Biometrics Processing Unit. Additionally, USCIS will now require applicants to call the USCIS support center at 800-375-5283 (TTY 800-767-1833) in order to request to reschedule their biometrics appointments. As of date USCIS will no longer accept written requests to reschedule biometrics appointments.

Please note that requests to reschedule biometrics appointments must be done by phone before the date and time of your original appointment. The applicant must establish good cause for rescheduling. If the applicant fails to appear for their scheduled biometrics appointment and has not rescheduled, CIS will consider the application, petition, or request abandoned may deny it.
