FY 2022 H-1B Cap Initial Registration Period Opens on March 9

Today USCIS announced that the initial registration period for FY 2022 Cap cases will open at noon Eastern Time on March 9 and run through noon Eastern Time on March 25. During this period, prospective petitioners and representatives will be able to fill out petitioner and beneficiary information and submit their registrations. More information on the registration process can be found here.

If USCIS receives enough registrations by March 25, they will randomly select registrations and send selection notifications via users’ myUSCIS online accounts. USCIS intends to notify account holders by March 31.

As your company identifies employees you wish to sponsor for a CAP-subject H-1B, please reach out to our office. We are completing the preliminary material on these cases on a rolling basis. Those who do need petitions approved by 10/01/2021, e.g., a CAP-GAP beneficiary with OPT expiring prior to that date will need to be specifically identified.

Individuals must be electronically registered during the registration period in order to be eligible for sponsorship. There will be one electronic registration per organization covering as many people as you wish to support. If you did not submit an electronic registration with our firm last year, we can send you instructions on how to create your business's myUSCIS account in order to approve and e-sign these electronic registrations.
